David and Chris came in yesterday afternoon after having walked from Gracetown on the Cape to Cape track. They had left two days earlier from Dunsborough. They had asked if I could prepare a dinner for them and I agreed to do a chicken curry for them. Jo-Anna and Matt who had been here three nights were also due a free pizza meal as part of the special package I am running on-line with the Margaret River Visitor Centre. Gerard and Meg staying for two nights were also interested in staying in so they joined in as well.
Thank goodness Rocksand was available. She came in at 4.00pm and got busy on the curry and the pizza. All I had to do was get all the ingredients out and leave her to it. By 7.00pm there was a big bowl of papadams, another of beautiful curry, another of saffron rice, and two magnificent pizzas. The six guests all had some wine of their own and enjoyed a great evening. It turned out that Matt knows Gerard and Meg's son. Both are from Canberra so that helps a bit, but still a coincidence.
Peter, an OH&S specialist, booked in last Saturday for one night. Three days later he reluctantly left, after discovering there was a lot more to the Margaret River Wine Region than he had previously thought. I think he found the surrounds here very relaxing and it gave him a good opportunity to regenerate his energy.
